Provincial Funding for Truck Driver Training and Wage Subsidy Program After many years of advocating for funded commercial driver training the MTA is pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2018, the Province of Manitoba is making available full funding for Manitobans wanting to train and work as Transport Truck Drivers. Manitoba Education and Training through the Skills and Employment Partnerships branch will implement a revised policy approach for supporting Class 1 truck driver training under the Skills Development Program. The revised policy will be implemented as a one-year demonstration project with renewal dependent on an internal evaluation. Below you will find a few documents to help you in accessing this opportunity. To further assist in explaining this opportunity there will be a members only information session at the MTA Office on January 11 at 9:00 am. Representatives from Manitoba Education and Training will be joining us to present this opportunity and answer any questions members may have. They will also review the Province’s Wage Subsidy Program and how these program may be utilized together as part of a more extensive corporate HR strategy.
